am sick.

Nothing terrible, just a headache, sore throat, and a little fogginess.

Long ago, I heard or read that if you want to figure out when you were infected, think back 48 hours before your first symptom – that first throat tickle, unexpected sneeze, or whatever. Supposedly, that’s when it happened.

I suspect this Facebook “science” has no basis in fact (the 48-hour rule suggests I either got it from my neighbor’s dog or the waffles I ate for breakfast), but it doesn’t really matter.

Because while it may be an interesting game to play, the truth is, knowing when or how I was infected has no impact on treatment.

This same concept applies to your business.

There are plenty of available distractions – continually fine-tuning your newsletter rather than publishing, asking every human you meet for their opinion on your proposed logo, taking one more course before you launch your business, etc.

Few of those will make a big difference. What will is staying focused on getting hired and making money.

Keep your eye on that ball and everything else takes care of itself.
