while eating breakfast. I do this most weekdays (reading I mean, breakfast is every day).
I think of it as my “meditation.” Something I do every morning that I enjoy, and that gets my brain working in another direction.
These are social-psych kinds of books usually, with a little business thrown in. Things like The Tipping Point, The Getting Naked book I mentioned in class, Freakonomics.
I was thinking today how much of my work perspective comes out of what I learn when reading these things. I think it’s valuable because it’s a little bit every day and, because what I’m reading isn’t particularly about the focus of my work.
