… received a newsletter.

 

It came from someone I barely know; we had one, brief conversation last week.

He never mentioned anything about a newsletter. But poof! I’m on his list.

Adding people to your list without their permission may not be illegal (although it is if you’re Canadian).

But it’s still a waste of your time and your brand.

Relationship-building isn’t a numbers game; you risk damaging your reputation by shoveling unsuspecting people onto your list.

“If they don’t like it they can just unsubscribe,” isn’t a long term business-building strategy.
