… sent a survey to my newsletter subscribers.

(OK, I actually sent it yesterday.)

It was a one question survey, asking for input on an upcoming webinar.

Things I’ve learned about doing surveys:

  • One question surveys work well. The longer it is, the fewer people who will bother.
  • Put the survey question in the subject line of your invite. Mine was: “What topic should I cover in my next webinar?”
  • Reward the people who take the survey. I offered a “friends discount” when the webinar is complete.
  • Include a “comments” section where people can write whatever they like. Some of the best insights come from there.
