… set the date for my company ice cream party this summer.

Celebration is kind of an obvious thing when you work in a big company. There are all kinds of anniversaries and milestones and “we hit our budgeted whatever” events.

As solos, we tend to just move to the next thing.

Back in 2005, at the time of my 5th anniversary as a solo, my coach demanded (yes, demanded) that I find a way to celebrate. So I staged a “free ice cream event” and invited everyone I knew.

I’ve been doing it every year since.

Are you taking time to celebrate your victories too?

(P.S. This year’s Blue Penguin ice cream party is Wednesday, July 23rd at Kimball Farm in Westford, Massachusetts. If you’re reading this, you’re invited – mark your calendar!)
