It wasn’t until my office landlord sent me back a countersigned copy that I realized I had forgotten to even read the document before signing.
Fortunately, when I read it over just now, there were no surprises.
But I have come to trust the two brothers who own my office building.
I’ve met their kids, I’ve run into them at our town’s dive bar, they’ve followed through on every request or promise made in the two years I’ve been here.
I suppose you can get burned sometimes by having too much trust.
But when you work with trustworthy people – clients, vendors, landlords, etc. – it makes everything a lot easier and more efficient. And the chances of unhappy surprises are pretty low.
